My name is Dana Samperio, and I am a Jungian Analyst Candidate at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich. My journey with depth psychology began almost two decades ago in England, where I studied Freudian and post-Freudian psychoanalysis at the University of Essex. Throughout the years, I have worked with teenagers and adults in various mental health settings around Europe, including psychiatric hospitals. Currently, I am working at my private practice in Zurich and at the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne.

In addition to my clinical work, I run fairy tale and dream analysis groups and personal growth workshops. In my professional development, I seek a connection between psyche, soma, and polis. Apart from psychology, I am interested in Chinese medicine, art, and ritual experiences as social gestures of expressing meaning. Privately, I am married and have a dog named Voldemort.

At the core of my psychoanalytic work is a genuine interest in others. As a Jungian analyst, I operate on the premise that where one suffers is often the place that contains the seed of new development and growth. Often, it is in the process of delving into ourselves that we discover the attitude that meets our true needs. Jungian analytic work is a space where people have the opportunity to deeply explore their own minds, motivations, and potentials, taking into consideration not only the demands of outer life but also the requirements of the hidden life within.

I believe that a deep center of knowing resides innately in every person. We can learn how to engage with it through symbols using the analysis of dreams, images, active imagination, and sandplay. When we are able to build a felt sense of connection to this place, we can not only develop and grow but, most importantly, heal.

There is an important story needing to come through each of us. I am here to listen to yours.

Asking the proper question is the central action of transformation- in fairy tales, in analysis, and in individuation. The key question causes germination of consciousness. The properly shaped question always emanates from an essential curiosity about what stands behind. Questions are the keys that cause the secret doors of the psyche to swing open.
